# Getting started with Clipnote Clipnote keeps the HTML, Markdown, and text that comes out of your AI conversations **as a URL you can just open**. Instead of scrolling back through a chat to find something, you keep the part that mattered as a page of its own. Each thing you save is called a **clip**. A trip itinerary, meeting notes, a recipe you adapted, an announcement page, a small tool you had your AI build. The format differs; the way you handle them doesn't. ## Three steps ### 1. Save There are two ways to create a clip. - **From the dashboard**: press the **+** button above the clip list and either paste your content or load a file. The title is picked up from the content, so most of the time you can save it as-is. - **From your AI client**: connect Clipnote to an MCP-capable client such as Claude, and you can save mid-conversation just by asking — "save this to Clipnote." HTML renders with its layout and styles intact; Markdown shows up formatted. ### 3. Share A new clip is **private**. When you want someone else to see it, switch it to **Make public** and its share URL — `https://clipnote.paritto.dev/p/…` — starts working. Whoever you send it to can open it without logging in.
